The Liaison Officer to the Middle East keeps and creates the communication between all different Expedition Partners and official authorities in the Middle East. The main focus is to raise awareness in the 16 middle eastern countries about the Antarctica and the need for both, its preservation and peaceful scientific exploration – especially since none of the 16 countries is a party to the Antarctic Treaty Sytem (ATS) yet.
