GERMANY: Correspondence from the Office of the Federal President

Today – at the 19th of September 2017 – we’ve been honoured by a letter from the Office of the Federal President of Germany (Bundespräsidialamt).

Summary:

The letter underlines that German scientists were part of the discovery and exploration of the Antarctic and they still are. This engagement led to a strong German Support for climate protection – at home and abroad, In short, Germany will host the UN-Climate Conference COP 23 in Bonn. The effort (of Expedition Antarctic Blanc) to contribute to the conservation of the Antarctic is seen as important and best wishes for a successful Expedition – as contribution for the protection of the Antarctic and the climate – has been sent.

Dieses Engagement fügt sich ein in die breite Unterstützung, die Deutschland zum Klimaschutz – zu Hauses und weltweit – leistet. In Kürze wird Deutschland z.B. die VN-Klimakonferenz COP 23 in Bonn ausrichten. Ihr Anliegen, einen Beitrag zur Erhaltung der Antarktis zu leisten, ist ein wichtiges.’
